• Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement - March 2009

The Australian Government has effected the Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement (ACl-FTA), which will enter into force on 6 March 2009. Chapter 15 of the ACl-FTA contains legally binding requirements relating to procurement activities conducted by government agencies, including Western Australian government agencies. These requirements, including the thresholds at which the ACl-FTA applies, mirror those contained within the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement.

A set of guidelines will shortly be developed to outline those agencies and procurements that are subject to the requirements of the ACl-FTA, any available exemptions and the procurement processes that must be followed.
