• Free Trade Agreements - Revision of Thresholds - August 2014

Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) and Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement (ACIFTA) – Revision of Thresholds.

Please be advised that there has been a revision of sub-central government procurement thresholds under AUSFTA and ACIFTA.

The free trade agreements apply to covered procurements undertaken by government agencies.

As at 1 August 2014, 'covered procurement' means a procurement of goods and/or services by any contractual means, including purchase, rental, or lease, with or without an option to buy,
build-operate-transfer contracts, and public works concessions contracts, for which:

    • the total contract value is now estimated to equal or exceed $551,000 for the procurement of goods and/or services; and
    • the total contract value is now estimated to equal or exceed $7,769,000 for the procurement of construction services.

    Further Assistance

For advice on these matters, agencies should contact Sue McKinnon at the State Supply Commission on 6551 1500.
