• Agency Procurement Services

Central to Government Procurement’s (GP) Transformation Program is a new optimised service delivery model which ensures we continue to provide agencies with access to a centralised and specialist procurement function; a team capable of providing professional procurement support and advice, with a particular focus on higher risk, higher value procurement.

As of 1 July 2016, the new Agency Procurement Services (APS) directorate replaced Client Procurement Services (CPS), enabling GP to be more responsive and flexible in our resource allocation to meet agency service needs. APS is a one stop shop for agencies seeking advice and procurement assistance for all goods and services procurement valued at $250,000 and above, including ICT and community services procurement.

Management and working relationships between the Department of Finance (Finance) and agencies under the new service delivery model are outlined in a Procurement Management Arrangement document. The document replaces previous Memoranda of Understanding between Finance and some agencies.

APS is divided into five teams, each dedicated to supporting a number of agencies. An Agency Contact List is available at GP contact.

Regional offices can be foundon the Contact Government Procurement web page.

    Strategic Project Support Services

Within APS, a sixth team, Strategic Project Support Services (SPSS), has been established. The SPSS team of highly skilled procurement professionals offers a specialised support service to agencies to undertake strategic/complex procurement activities on major projects that can include business planning and project management activities.

A Request for SPSS Assistance form is available from the SPSS webpage, which outlines a number of criteria a project needs to meet to access SPSS assistance.
