    This workshop will provide attendees with an overview of using and developing KPIs in a procurement and contract management context, explain what makes a ‘good’ KPI, identify what KPI approach is fit for purpose for a range of different procurement types and explain how KPIs can link performance and remuneration. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a number of scenarios and develop KPIs for a range of different procurement types.

    This seminar is suitable for all public sector staff with some procurement experience.

    Written Quotes Process

    The Written Quotes Process session is for Public Sector employees who will be involved in the procurement of products and services valued between $50,000 and $250,000.

    The session will provide participants with an overview of the written quotes process including:

    • drafting a specification;
    • preparing and issuing a request for quote using the Request for Quote templates;
    • conducting the evaluation process; and
    • awarding a contract.

    This training session is a practical one day workshop available free of charge for public sector employees. It is suitable for officers with limited procurement knowledge.

    Better Buying

    The Better Buying for government buyers workshop will provide participants with an introduction to purchasing, relevant procurement policies and guidelines, steps to take when making a purchase, how to buy from Common Use Arrangements (CUAs) and key points to remember about quotes and tenders.

    This workshop is suitable for all public sector staff with minimal procurement experience/knowledge.

    Online learning

    We have a free self-paced online learning module providing an introduction to buying on behalf of government. The module is designed for new to government employees or those that want to refresh their knowledge on Government’s buying practices and principles. It looks at the key process and considerations to follow when making a purchase and the policies that affect it. The module takes approximately one hour to complete, however it can be paused and revisited at any time.

    To access the online learning module:
    1. Click the ‘Login here’ button below.
    2. Login to the Finance Training Portal using these details:

    • Password: training

    3. Click on ‘Understanding Goods and Services Buying within the WA Public Sector
