    ServiceNet is a branch of the Department of Finance and is the Government Internet Service Provider (ISP), aligned with whole-of-government initiatives and strategies. ServiceNet facilitates access to aggregated ICT services for the purpose of delivering lower-cost, standardised services to government agencies and also manages contracts with Industry to support ICT services using government owned infrastructure.

    Cloud computing

    Cloud computing is generally described as IT delivered as a service. ServiceNet’s cloud for WA government is based on IaaS:

    • Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offers computer resources, operating systems, networking, and storage to client environments. Clients are typically responsible for all operations in, administration of, and configuration of their environment beyond the baseline deployment.
