• Contract Management – It’s a Big Deal!

    It may be an unsung role in many agencies, but contract managers play an important role throughout the procurement cycle.

    Good contract management reduces risk to government and helps agencies achieve value for money outcomes.

    Government Procurement‘s Contract Management Advisory Services (CMAS) team was established to highlight the importance, and increase the capability within government, of good contract management practices.

    CMAS runs Contract Management Awareness Sessions on a regular basis to help develop agency staff involved in contract management. These events are free to attend and can also be held in-house at your agency.

    The CMAS team has developed the I’m a Contract Manager webpage which has resources such as:

    • dates for upcoming contract management events;
    • contract management Frequently Asked Questions;
    • Contract Management Top Tips and Checklist;
    • Contract Manager Self Assessment Toolkit; and
    • Contract Management Workbooks.

    The webpage also contains links to State Supply Commission policies, the Procurement Practice Guide and other useful information.

    For any further information on CMAS, its sessions, or for assistance, please email the CMAS team: cmas@finance.wa.gov.au.
