Electricity is produced by generators, distributed through powerlines
by network operators and sold to consumers by retailers. The Western
Australian Government owns three corporations with active roles in the
electricity supply chain.

Privately-owned electricity generators supply almost half of the
electricity in the South West electricity market as well as private
mining, mineral processing and other operations.
