Feed-in tariff rates

The feed-in tariff scheme was open to applications from 1 July 2010 to 1 August 2011, when the cap was reached and the scheme was suspended. Customers who had already made a contractual commitment to purchase a renewable energy system (committed customers) were given an extended period to apply.

Rates

The feed-in tariff rate you receive depends on the date of your application or, for committed customers, the date of their contract.

  • Before 1 July 2011 – 40 cents per kilowatt hour
  • From 1 July 2011 – 20 cents per kilowatt hour

Installation deadline

Customers who applied between 19 May and 30 June had to meet an installation deadline of 30 September 2011 to receive the 40 cent rate.

Committed customers who agreed a contract between 19 May and 30 June, also needed to meet this installation deadline to receive the 40 cent rate.

Customers who did not meet this deadline receive the 20 cent rate.
