Cyber Security
This section of the website contains information, resources and services related to Internet security, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) security and information security. Collectively these are known as cyber security.
WA Government agencies should be aware of cyber risks and operate secure and resilient information and communication technologies to protect the integrity of their own operations as well as the identity and privacy of their customers.
The Department of Finance will:
Facilitate the awareness of cyber security matters to all WA Government agencies and provide them with the information and practical tools to suitably manage their data.
Provide input in the development and maintenance of a secure, resilient and trusted WA Government electronic operating environment that supports the public interest.
Promote inter-agency collaboration to develop innovative solutions with suppliers.
Work with Federal agencies to improve the detection, analysis, mitigation and response to sophisticated cyber threats, including threats on critical infrastructure and share this with government agencies.
Develop cyber security policy for whole of government and promote and facilitate its implementation.
