About Shared Services
On 1 July 2011, Shared Services became a business unit of the newly formed Department of Finance. The business unit is now known as Department of Finance Shared Services. Throughout this website it is simply referred to as Shared Services.
In 2011, the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) conducted an inquiry into the provision of shared corporate services to the WA public sector. The resulting recommendation to decommission Shared Services was accepted by Government and is now being progressed by the Decommissioning Office.
