Record to Report

Shared Services’ facilitate timely reporting by offering solutions that include the recording and processing of accounting transactions through to the production of financial management reports.

Accounting Services

Key systems and process issues are:

  • Financial accounting and advisory services relating to the maintenance of the General Ledger including:
    • administering General Ledger business and security rules
    • processing Agency costs and adjustments
    • ensuring timely period end close and reconciliation of sub-ledgers
    • assisting agencies to resolve discrepancies in allocations, accruals, reconciliations, adjustments and closing entries
  • Asset services relating to the acquisition, monitoring, accounting and effective management of assets, including:
    • processing asset additions into the fixed asset module
  • Project accounting services that enable client agencies to meet their project management and reporting requirements, including:
    • providing specialist advice and assistance to agencies in the development and setup of new projects o providing support in the development and analysis of project accounting reports
  • Specialist advice and assistance on financial policy and legislative compliance matters

Cash Management

We also provide cash management and advisory services to meet day-to-day cash control and administration requirements. These include:

  • Reconciliation of bank accounts to the general ledger
  • Monitoring funds availability prior to the payment of suppliers and creditors
  • Liaising with agencies regarding drawdown requirements and providing advice to agencies on cash management issues
  • Submission of the Statement of Cash Position and Treasurer’s Account Bank System (TABS) information to the Department of Treasury
