Building Policy and Procedures

The role of Building Policies and Procedures (BPP) is to ensure the BMW team has access to the guidance material it needs to deliver the state's non-residential building program.

The branch's activities include:

  • working with stakeholders to develop, maintain, communicate and advise on building policies and guidelines
  • maintaining BMW's internal knowledge base
  • developing and maintaining BMW's project management framework and methodologies
  • overseeing the processes and documentation embedded in BMW's Project and Contract Management system
  • working with other areas of Finance, other agencies and other jurisdictions to develop consistent, best practice building policies, processes, procedures and templates.

The following are some high profile whole-of-government policies governing BMW activities:

The Buy Local Policy encourages Western Australian business participation in government contracting to maximise the potential for local and regional industry development and employment.

The Priority Start Building Policy is used by all State Government agencies to ensure predetermined targets of apprentices and trainees are met by tenderers.
