The State Government recently made an announcement regarding the future of shared services in the public sector.

On 7 July 2011, the Premier, the Hon. Colin Barnett MLA announced that the Office of Shared Services (“Shared Services”) would be decommissioned following the Economic Regulation Authority’s (ERA) review into whether it provided a benefit to Western Australia.

The Honourable Simon O’Brien MLC, Minister for Finance, visited Shared Services offices last week to understand the history, successes and current challenges of implementing the corporate services reform.


Shared Services

Shared Services is a business unit of the Department of Finance, providing a range of corporate services to government agencies.

The services we provide under a whole of government approach include human resources and financial services.

These services will continue until the agencies receiving them are decommissioned from Shared Services in the near future.

Decommissioning
The Decommissioning Office is managing the programme to decommission WA Government agencies from Shared Services.
Availability
We occasionally undertake maintenance and upgrades of the eBusiness Centre. During these times, it may be unavailable to customers.
