    Event description

The Procurement and Contracting Vocational Program is an accredited vocational training program for public sector officers.

The program consists of five two-day modules which when completed in conjunction with the optional assessments build towards a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP50616). The program develops the practical skills and knowledge required for those working in procurement and contract management roles within the public sector, such as Procurement Practitioners and Specialists.

    Benefits

Key benefits include an understanding of the public sector environment, practical skills in procurement planning, formation and contract management including goods and services, community services and works procurement.

     This program will:

    • Deliver high quality procurement training customised for the WA Government.
    • Provide career development opportunities for public sector procurement practitioners.
    • Promote the Government's strategic procurement objective of delivering value for money procurement outcomes to government through well trained practitioners.

    Qualification and Accreditation

Students are required to undertake a range of theoretical and practical assessments for each of the thirteen (13) competencies covered in the five workshop modules to obtain the formal qualification.

The modules of the PCVP are all competency-based training accredited against units of competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This means successful completion of these modules and their assessments will gain participants Statements of Attainment and build credit toward a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting qualification. Refer to the Course Information Guide for a full list of competencies covered in the program.
